Subject:     Committee on Academic Honesty

The Final Report of the Presidential Task Force on Academic Honesty recommended that "SWT should develop and implement a modified honor code." The Task Force recommended that this code should be developed with guidance from a new Presidential Committee. I am asking you to serve on the Committee on Academic Honesty. The Roster of Councils and Committees will indicate that the Committee's charge is to oversee "the development and implementation of university policies on academic honesty, including possible introduction of a modified honor code, considering the experience of other campuses, with broad involvement of SWT faculty and students." Dr. Stanley Wayment has agreed to chair this committee.

I sincerely appreciate your willingness to undertake this important responsibility as part of our continuing efforts to enhance the quality of our academic programs at SWT.
