Roy Hickley, Ph.D., a.k.a. "the Professor"

Those of you who grew up watching Gilligan's Island will remember "the Professor." He is a scholar among scholars. He is my professional idol because the man knows everything and I'll bet he has a vitae to die for. I hope that someday I am able to make a radio out of coconuts, perform surgery, practice law, and read hieroglyphics. What I want to know is if he can do all of this, why didn't he fix the boat? Maybe ship repair is out of his expansive area of expertise?
