The Gold Rush
The
Gold Rush, made in 1925, is one of Chaplin's most famous films.
Famous scenes include eating shoes and making rolls dance.
By the time Gold Rush was made, Chaplin, and his little
tramp character, were unbelievably famous worldwide.
The movie illustrates the perfectionism and economy of
gesture and plot that characterize much of Chaplin's best work.
Actors for The Gold Rush include Mack Swain (Big Jim)
who was one of Chaplin's colleagues at Keystone and appeared in numerous
Chaplin shorts, and Henry Bergman who appears in many other Chaplin
films and also serves as his assistant director.
