A little while before I was offered the job at SWT (1976), I began buying a house in what is called the "West Campus" area of Austin. I still live there. In typical Austin fashion, the address is 1202 W. 22 1/2 St. Yep, there's a "1/2" in the street's name.  Try to get the phone mail order folks to get this right, sometimes.

To give you some idea of why I continue to endure the Austin-San Marcos commute, it's 8 blocks west of the "Drag," that portion of Guadalupe St. adjacent to the UT-Austin campus. It's also two blocks from Pease Park, and my back yard overlooks the Caswell Tennis Courts at 24th and Lamar. Since I enjoy taking long walks (it seems to clear out some of the BS from SWT administrators who have a way of putting such things into one's psyche), this gives me a lot of interesting places to see as I trundle along. Oh yes, in addition to being a 15 minute walk from UT, it's only about 20 minutes to the capitol.

Now if I can just manage to continue paying the taxes...
