COMMITMENT
To be a successful student at Texas State,
and to train as a musician and music educator
you must first make a COMMITMENT.
A COMMITMENT to clearly identify your goals, dreams and aspirations.
A COMMITMENT to develop a practice routine that includes breathing exercises, mouthpiece practice, long tones, lip flexibility, tonguing exercises, scales, etudes and solos that will help you obtain these goals.
A COMMITMENT to make the time to practice, at the very least, two hours a day.
A COMMITMENT to do the little things that make a BIG difference.
IT IS NOW UP TO YOU.
Are you ready to make this kind of COMMITMENT?
It requires courage and perseverance.
It means that you will maintain a positive attitude; you will refuse to quit, and you will never give up.
The truly committed musician is a winner who will make positive things happen.
COMMITMENT
It is the differnce between excellence and mediocrity; between winning and losing; between accomplishing something special with your music or just getting by.
ARE YOU READY?
