Examine each of the five sentences below. Using the elementary principles of composition (Chapter 2, Strunk and White), specify principles that could be used to improve the sentence. Using the insights from the principles, rewrite three sentences.

1. This chapter provides information on what others (scholars) say about “community involvement” and “reintegration.”

2. Therefore, in describing the practical ideal type performance appraisal the purpose of the appraisal must be defined.

3. The first section of this chapter gives a background on the history of the city of Round Rock and briefly details the city’s demographic and economic characteristics important to understanding the climate of Round Rock before and after the baseball club’s relocation.
