Two trucks collided on I-35 this morning
Caused a traffic jam because the road was blocked both ways for about 45 minutes
Fuel from both trucks spilled onto the highway and caused a big oil slick
One truck was refrigerated and most of the contents thawed, causing a loss of an estimated ten thousand dollars worth of goods.
Accident happened on a part of I-35 undergoing repairs, at Exit 202, near the San Marcos Outlet Mall
The driver of one truck was killed. Jackson Bliley, 28, of Chicago, IL. The other driver was slightly injured. Transported to Central Texas Medical Center for observation.

The vote took place at three a.m.after five senators stopped their 31-hour filibuster in an effort to kill the bill. The five opposed the measure
Praising the Senate's action was M.A.D.D.
Last week the Texas House passed a similar bill, 55 to 40
Senator Tom Harley, a Republican from San Marcos, sponsored the bill.

The Texas Health Commission issued a water alert because of parasitic contamination
This morning the commission lifted the alert
Jones Lamson, head of commission, said the most recent tests show the danger has passed.


Dell Inc, based in Round Rock, made this announcement today:
The company will donate 25 computers and software to the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District.
Donation worth more than 45,000 dollars.
Superintendent Sylvester Perez said the computers will be used to teach word processing and business programs. All will also be Internet-linked and capable of multimedia applications. Computers should be in use by the fall term. Perez says, "The school district will benefit greatly by this generous donation."
