EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS' RESPONSIBILITIES

AT OLD MAIN:

  • Review the CNN feed for possible video.
  • Prepare the Rundown Sheet. Be sure to include slots for HELLO, TEASE1, and BYE. Your kicker story usually comes immediately prior to BYE at the end.
  • Print the Rundown Sheet twelve times.
  • Have the anchors/co-producers write HELLO, BYE, TEASE1, etc.
  • Using the Rundown Sheet, make sure that all of your scripts have been printed/copied four times.
  • Sort the scripts. Proofread.
  • Provide the names and titles on the pink sheets. Also, order the boxes/still stores that you want to correspond with your readers.
  • Prepare the teleprompter text to indicate to the anchors who reads the stories in the rundown.
  • As showtime approaches (app. 3:30 p.m.), make sure all materials are ready for transport to Alkek-Studio B:
  • After the newscast, archive local VO and PKG scripts and video.
