Matthew Kutz

Experience:

Matt joined Texas State University in 2006 as Assistant Professor and the Clinical Coordinator of Athletic Training Education.  Prior to that (2002–2006) Dr. Kutz was Assistant Professor and Co-Director of Athletic Training Education at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach Florida.  Dr. Kutz has worked as an athletic trainer and in human performance in a variety of settings since the early 1990’s. In addition to being a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer, Dr. Kutz is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, an ACSM certified Health/Fitness Instructor, and an IDEA Master Personal Trainer.  Dr. Kutz’ professional and scholarly interests include ergogenic aids, human performance, and leadership competencies.  Prior to getting into academia, Dr. Kutz served on staff of Foundation Stone Christian Church in (Toledo, Ohio) as an Assistant Pastor. Dr. Kutz is a member of the CAATE Ethics Committee, is a reviewer for the Internet Journal of Allied Health Science and Practice, and a USA Track & Field Level II Coach Educator.  Matt is author of the forthcoming textbook “Leadership and Management in Athletic Training: An Integrated Approach” (with Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins, scheduled release late 2008).  Matt lives in New Braunfels, Texas with his wife Angie and two sons, Nathan and Jonathan.
