Experience:

Jack Ransone has served as Director of Athletic Training at Texas State University since 2003. A 1982 Texas State graduate, Dr. Ransone earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of New Mexico and later earned fellowship from the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Ransone serves on the Executive Committee for Coaching Education as well as Sports Medicine and Science for USA Track & Field, athletic trainer with Texas State’s baseball team the past three seasons, and served as an athletic trainer for the 2004 Olympic Games (Athens Greece), the 2003 Pan American Games (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), 2002 U.S. National Wrestling Teams Tour of Europe (Nyiregyhaza Hungary and Faenza Italy), the 2001 World Indoor Track & Field Championships (Lisbon Portugal) and 2000 U.S. National Wrestling Teams Olympic Qualifier (Claremont France). Dr. Ransone has received more than $1 million dollars in external funding. In addition to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Ransone spoken nationally and internationally on ergogenic aids, overtraining and sports performance for athletes. Prior to his arrival at Texas State, Dr. Ransone was the Director of Athletic Training at Oklahoma State University (1997-2003), Director of Athletic Training at San Jose State University (1994-1997) and Head Athletic Trainer at Adam State (CO) College (1984-1994). Dr. Ransone lives in Wimberley Texas with his wife Connie and two sons, Cody and Tyler.
