High School All-State Preparatory Choral Camp

Choir
students who will be in the ninth grade or above during the 2009-2010
school year are invited to attend the 2000 Texas State Hill Country
Choral Camp (HCCC) in San Marcos, TX. The camp, which will begin
Monday, July 13, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. and end on Thursday, July 16,
2009 at 12:00 p.m., is designed to provide singers with a rich
choral experience. Held in the impressive music facility on the
Texas State University – San Marcos campus, this event is
sponsored by the School of Music.
Prominent music educators and master teachers from throughout
the state of Texas have been selected as clinicians for the Hill
Country All-State Preparatory Camp.
Each day, students will have a combination of full and sectional
rehearsals. Additionally, they will receive instruction on diction,
proper singing, and other music techniques that will
help them be more successful in their auditions. A final rehearsal/recording
session will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m.
in Evans Auditorium. This session is open to the public, and the
recording will be available for purchase through Texas Tape Sales.

GENERAL
INFORMATION
On-campus students will be provided meals every day and
housing accommodations in campus dormitories from University Residence
Life. Off-campus students may choose to be admitted at the flat
tuition rate or they may opt to purchase meals. Recreational and
social functions are planned for each day and evening of the camp.
All campers will be under the constant supervision of the Texas State
University – San Marcos Choral Camp Staff. |

To register,
please complete the registration form and return it with a $75.00
non-refundable deposit by June 15, 2009. The remaining balance
must be postmarked no later that June 30, 2009
. There is a $15.00 charge for applications accepted after the
June 15, 2009 deadline.
Note:
Requests for refunds will be accepted in written form until 3:00
p.m., July 13, 2009. Beyond this date, we are unable to process
refund requests. A full refund minus the $75.00 deposit will be issued for all refunds recieved on or before June 30, 2009. Written refund requests recieved between July 1, 2009 and July 13, 2009 will
also incur any fees associated with room & board.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for the processing of refund requests following
the completion of the camp.

RECREATIONAL
ACTIVITIES
In addition to an outstanding
staff and excellent instruction, campers can expect the same great
recreation and entertainment activities that the Hill Country
Choral Camp is famous for! Yes, we’ll be “chopping
broccoli” again.
- Camp
Chat - In between rehearsals there will be “Camp
Chat” – a fun time when the campers and counselors
participate in a host of crazy skits and songs.
- Camp
Dance - Always a hit, the camp dance will be held on Wednesday at George's.

Talent Show
- Featuring some of the most talented students throughout the
state, the HCCC Talent Show is an excellent opportunity for
campers to really show what they’ve got. Campers are encouraged
to bring props, accompaniment tapes, costumes, etc. Sign-up
for the talent show. Auditions will occur during registration
on Monday, July 13, 2009.

PRIVATE
LESSONS
All students
participating in the camp will have the opportunity to study privately
with a member of the Hill Country Choral Camp voice faculty. These
lessons are available at the rate of $15.00 per thirty minute
lesson. Campers may work on the All-State music or their own selections. |

Final Things
The Hill Country Choral
Camp is committed to the preparation of its campers and to the
