The Texas State University School of Music offers a comprehensive program that provides a challenging and positive educational environment for today's musicians. Our commitment to excellence in music education, scholarship and performance presents a unique opportunity for personal and professional fulfillment.

Students and faculty enjoy outstanding facilities for study and performance at Texas State. Evans Auditorium seats 940 people and is ideal for large ensemble concerts. The University Performing Arts and Conference Center, seating 390, houses a tracker Swearingen pipe organ. The Music Building itself provides an excellent atmosphere for practice, study and fun, and contains some of the most technologically up-to-date facilities for faculty and students, including:

* 150-seat recital hall
* Class MIDI piano lab
* Opera lab
* State-of-the-art computer lab
* Music Library complete with reference materials, scores and recordings

The campus at Texas State is beautifully orchestrated around a central hill which is topped by "Old Main." A spring-fed river divides the campus, which is landscaped to allow for a number of activities. The architecture is a blend of old and new, and is laid out with the student in mind. All buildings are accessible for those with disabilities, and most are within a five minute walk. A wealth of information about Texas State and the programs offered can be found on the web at www.txstate.edu. Visit the School of Music website for more information.
