BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:

Farhad Ameri was born in 1974. He received his B.S degree in Industrial Engineering in 1997 from Iran University of Science and Technology and M.S degree in Industrial Engineering form Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, in 1999. After graduation with bachelor's degree, he joined an engineering consulting company in automotive industry working as a Systems Engineer for about five years in areas such as implementation of quality assurance standards and development of product data management systems. He received his doctoral degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, under supervision of Dr. Deba Dutta. He was a member of PLM Alliance research group in U of M till December 2006. In January 2007, he joined Automation in Design (AiD) research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University as a post-doctoral research fellow supervised by Dr. Joshua D. Summers. He is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at Texas State University, San Marcos. His research areas include Engineering Information Management and Distributed Design and Manufacturing. His papers are published in journals such as ASME Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, ASME Journal of Mechanical Design, International Journal of Advanced Engineering Informatics,Research in Engineering Design, and Computer-Aided Design and Applications. He is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
