Structure of the Texas Teacher Preparation Conference

One of the goals of the conference was to produce specific action items for individual participants to take back to their institutions and implement after the conclusion of the conference. To this end, the participants were divided into seven groups consisting of approximately seven people each. These groups were then given specific questions to consider, and charged with specific outcomes for each of the breakout sessions that occurred in the conference. Each breakout session started with a presentation by a resource speaker giving background material for that particular discussion. This was followed by a brief presentation of the charge to the groups by another resource person. The charge told the groups what the outcomes of their discussions should be. There were four breakout sessions, and the composition of the groups remained constant throughout the conference. This allowed more detailed discussion as the members of a particular group became more familiar with each other. The specifics of each breakout session can be found in the sessions part of the web site. Links below give the members of each group, and the contact information for all conference participants.
