You have found the home-page of Charles Vance (a.k.a. Chuck, Charleeeee, "chuckrateez", "Hydraulic Man", "Conan The Librarian", "Above-Average Chucky", etc., ad nauseum).

I am currently employed as the Database Management Services Librarian in the Cataloging Department of the Alkek Library at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Since it's my profession, I should probably provide you with tons of interesting library-related links. But, since the average web-user probably considers that a contradiction in terms, I offer you Boring Library Links instead.


I am married to Carol Watson (a.k.a. "Libby Doe"), and have two lovely stepdaughters, Melanie and Kellee. Carol and her girls are originally from the Great White North, and they moved down to warmer climes in August of 1997. Carol is currently employed as an operations manager at National Instruments in Austin. We've got tons of photos that we took on our travels through the Great White North and Texas and we'll eventually get them all scanned and loaded. For now, you can take a gander at a little sample:


My current hobby is woodworking. I've found it to be relaxing and it provides a great outlet for stress, as well as giving me the opportunity to create something useful while I engage in my "therapy". You can find some photos and descriptions of completed projects right here.


Those of who have seen my page before will notice that it's a mere shadow of what it used to be. I hadn't been updating links, so I decided to just scrap most of it and rebuild it from scratch. More to come ...
