An artistic and educational outreach project organized and directed by Geoff Winningham and sponsored by The Jung Center in Houston. Geoff Winningham, his wife, printmaker Janice Freeman, and eight Rice University students traveled to Pozos to teach local children basic photography and darkroom skills. The children, who were mostly between 9 and 16 years old, were given plastic Holga cameras to photograph their surroundings. They also learned basic printmaking and created monotype prints as well as traditional darkroom prints. The Wittliff Collections was the first stop on the exhibit’s traveling tour.
