01. POLICY STATEMENT
01.01 This UPPS
clarifies the joint interests of the divisions of Finance and Support Services
(FSS) and Student Affairs (SA), and the Student Center (SC) in working with the
food contractor.
02. OPERATING GUIDELINES
02.01 Auxiliary Services (AS), Physical Plant (PP), Dean of
Students (DS), Residence Life (RL), Student Center (SC) and Special Projects
(SP) share the responsibility for the effective operation of the on-campus food
service operation in conjunction with the institutional food service
contractor. The following table indicates the operational decision areas, along
with primary and input responsibilities:

1 The reason that primary responsibility is given to SA/DS/RL in these
areas is that these decisions will be made when the contract pricing/negotiations
occur and this will insure that strong input is elicited from SA/DS/RL by
FSS/AS.
2 The Food Service Committee will establish standards for measuring
the performance of the food service contractor.
The committee will consider student survey results in assessing
performance.
02.02 The
Director of Food Services will attend staff meetings with the Directors of
Auxiliary Services, Student Center, Special Projects and Residence Life on an
as needed basis and will cooperate with these directors for food service requirements
in each of their respective areas. The
Food Service Committee will resolve conflicts that may arise regarding food
service.
