- We present 41 near-infrared spectra from Type Ia supernovae. We identify major spectral features and discuss the implications for the physics of the explosion. The large sample size permits us to show that NIR spectral development is uniform for SNe Ia. We show that nearly the entire progenitor must be burned in the explosion and that the chemical structure of burning products are distributed in radial layers.

- We present extensive early photometric and spectroscopic (optical and near-infrared) data on supernova (SN) 2008D as well as X-ray data on the associated X-ray transient (XRT) 080109. The NIR spectra of Marion, et al. are shown to be critical diagnostics for Type Ib/c supernovae.

- We study the observational signatures of thermonuclear burning fronts in SNe Ia and discuss evidence for off-center DDT transitions. New observations suggest that our current picture of deflagration fronts is incomplete.
